Shabnum Brar is a highly skilled, tremendously knowledgable and specialized PT with “magic hands.” Chemo, surgery and radiation all left me extremely weak and with painful joint injuries, which she has helped me to heal from with a dramatic reduction in my pain. I am at high risk for lymphedema and she is monitoring and educating me on how to avoid it. I work in the fitness industry so regaining strength and flexibility is critical to regaining my life. I give Shab all the credit for getting me there through a combination of manual therapy and exercise. She is a remarkable healer and an expert in assessing exactly what my body needs, which can often vary from one session to the next. I feel I have gotten stronger every week. Shab is compassionate, nurturing and really listens, which are qualities so important to cancer patients who have been pummeled physically and emotionally. I can't say enough good things about Ilaaj. The expertise, compassion, and personalized care I received were instrumental in my recovery after breast cancer treatment. Shabnum has made me feel supported and informed every step of the way. Her expertise helped me regain strength, mobility, and confidence, but just as importantly, her kindness and encouragement made each session feel safe and empowering in such a beautiful space . Recovering from breast cancer is not easy, and having a physical therapist who truly understands that journey made all the difference. Head and Neck Cancer Recovery:

Shabnam is truly the best physio and Lymphedema therapist i have had treatments from. The manual manipulation treatment is the best. At her new clinic at Ilaaj she provides an hour long one on one treatment and within 2 weeks of working with her 2-3 times a week I feel a marked change in my 15-year-old radiation and Brachy therapy that I had due to my tongue base cancer that metastasized to my color bone. Shabnam is knowledgeable and treats her patients and wants to see our progress. I have tried many therapists and believe me when I say she is the best!
Lymphedema Recovery:

After my second breast cancer surgery, my surgeon recommended Ilaaj to help manage my risk of lymphedema. I’m so glad he did. They removed 26 lymph nodes, and I was really concerned about what came next.
That’s when I met Shab and she was incredible. Kind, knowledgeable, and calm. It felt like being guided by someone who truly understood what I was going through. She helped me feel confident in my recovery and made each session feel like real progress. I just “graduated” a week ago after a great follow-up with my surgeon, and I credit so much of that to Ilaaj’s care. Their resources, environment, and team are second to none. I couldn’t have asked for better support during this chapter. Highly recommend!!
